How to get ahead in novel writing...

So it's now day three of Nanowrimo and I'm ahead of my expected word count with a grand total of 3,759 words in the bag. Now I'm aware that this collection of frankly silly ideas may just be one of the worst things ever committed to Word, but that's okay as it turns out. A helpful email from the Nanowrimo founder explained the notion of a first draft. So I can mess up it seems, if only a little.
